My name is Diego Henriquez. My photography journey started when I was about 10, with a purple point and shoot windup camera. Years of photo albums later, I found myself wanting to really grow as a photographer and bought a Pentax K1000 and a few lenses for $50 at Goodwill. When I think about it, that’s when things really changed for me. It was a whole new world and language I had to know.
I learned from books, youtube, friends, professional photographers, anything I could get my hands on and anyone who was willing to share a thing or two. Most of my photography is based on my travels or excursions I’ve taken, and this has really opened up my perspective on how I see things through the lens.
It’s taken me a few years to develop my style but it’s a journey, and along the way, I have had the opportunity to photograph amazing locations, experience remarkable adventures, and meet some incredible people - all of which continue to propel me forward.
It’s what I love about photography; the stories you create and tell. My hope is to reach a place where I can use my platform to make some impactful changes with the people I meet, the places I shoot, and the journey I’ve chosen to traverse.
